Barnea returned to Jerusalem and informed Netanyahuwho met yesterday with Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Advisor who is supported by Trump’s transition team. Now, Sullivan travels to Doha and Cairo to close the information and return to Washington.
“Today I got the feeling that the prime minister (Netanyahu) is willing to reach an agreement. And when I go to Doha and Cairo, my goal will be to put us in a position to close this deal this month, no later,” Sullivan said in a press conference he gave in Israel before leaving for Qatar.
The agreement for a truce between Israel and Hamas is supported in the following clauses:
1. The ceasefire will last -at least- for sixty days
2. Israel has no obligation to withdraw its troops from Gaza and will control key corridors that Hamas used to smuggle weapons, explosives and medicines
3. Hamas is only committed to releasing the hostages it holds. Does not take care of captives held by Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
4. Hamas must release all those kidnapped regardless of your age, gender or health status.
5. Israel agrees to release at least 200 Palestinian prisoners who are imprisoned for terrorist acts
6. Israel will facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid across Egypt’s border with Gaza.
The intention of Biden and Trump is to make the truce and the freedom of the hostages happen before the end of December.
