Robert Adrian is an Illinois’ Eighth Circuit Court judge.

Wikipedia is yet to feature him officially. In 1980, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Millikin University and later a J.D. from Southern Illinois University in 1983.

Adrian was a partner with Adrian and Dunn’s law firm before his 2010 judicial election. Similarly, he spent eight years as an assistant state’s attorney and three years as Adams County’s public defender. In addition to that, he is a certified mediator and child representative.

He is also a former president of the Adams County Bar Association. Likewise, he has been on the West Central Child Care Connections’ board twice. Other experiences include coaching softball, baseball, flag football, and swimming.

Reportedly, Robert was the president of the Sheridan Swim Team and the Cub Scout leader for ten years at St. Peter Pack 5.

In 2010, he won the judicial election, becoming a judge. 8 November 2016’s general election saw his retention.

As for Robert’s political party, it remains a mystery.

Robert Adrian is getting a lot of heat for his judgment on the Drew Clinton rape case.

Reportedly, he reversed an 18-year-old man’s sexual assault conviction at his sentencing the previous week, saying his arrest days of 148 days were enough. The reversal came on 3 January 2022, right after finding the accused guilty of one count of criminal sexual assault.

Drew sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at a graduation party in May 2021, for which he faced a mandatory minimum sentence of four years. However, the offender’s attorneys filed two post-trial motions, causing Robert to rule the prosecutors failed to prove their case.

After the ruling, the victim, Cameron Vaughan, shared her part of the story and the emotional reaction to Drew’s release with the public. She wept in the bathroom after learning the reversal. Her father also described her devastation. He says she feels like speaking up for nothing.
