Ookla Speedtest is the company in charge of carrying out this research and the winner, for the sixth consecutive year, was Movistar, after evaluating the main fixed internet operators in the country that have at least 3% of the total test samples.
The analysis of Ookla compared more than 19 million tests made by users in different Speedtest applications, which included connections from mobile devices via Wi-Fi.
This returned a score that incorporates a combination of download and upload speeds, with 80% of the score attributed to download speed and 20% to upload speed.
The results gave Movistar as the operator with the fastest fixed network in Colombia. The company managed to maintain average download and upload speeds that stood out in the market, adding 239.25 points.
According to the report, the company achieved superior results not only in download speed, but also in network stability and consistency, which is essential for streaming services, video conferencing and applications that require considerable bandwidth.
These were the results of the other operators:
- ETB: It came in second place with a score of 179.12 and with the lowest average latency of all of 4 ms.
- Of course: It took third place with 129.61 points, despite having the largest number of users in Colombia.
