A new documentary titled Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy delves into hidden moments in the life and alleged crimes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the music mogul currently imprisoned on charges of sex trafficking and organized crime. The trailer, released this Thursday, features shocking statements from people who were closely linked to Combs throughout his career.
The ninety-minute film, which will be released next January 14 on the platform Peacockincludes interviews with figures close to the artist, such as his bodyguard, his makeup artist, a producer, and a winner of his music competition series “Making the Band.”
Also noteworthy is the participation of Al B. Sure!musician and producer who shared time with Diddy at Uptown Records and who also had a romantic relationship with Kim Porterex-wife of the tycoon.
In the trailer, Al B. Sure! states, “Something’s not right about this,” while reflecting on Combs’ behaviors over the years. Another interviewee, whose identity remains anonymous and whose voice was distorted, states: “I have been with Sean for quite a while and I have captured many moments. Any room with red lights means you are making love or having sex. Some of the girls in the room were undoubtedly underage.”.
Lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represents Dawn Richards, former member of Danity Kane and one of the civil plaintiffs against ‘Diddy’, also appears in the trailer and does not mince words to condemn the artist: “Sean Combs is a monster.”
Other voices include testimonies from people describing what it was like to work around Diddy. “Honestly, I didn’t want to be around him unless there were cameras,” says another interviewee. A female voice also explains: “They could send me and sell me to anyone,” reflecting the fear that the producer sowed as a way to gain “respect.”
Peacock’s production not only features unreleased material and exclusive interviews, but also points out the factors that shaped Combs from his childhood and the beginning of his career in music.
Interest in the allegations against Sean Combs is not limited to the Peacock documentary. Months ago it was announced that Netflix is developing a docuseries produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, focused on the accusations against the rapper.
Likewise, ID, known for his exposé on Nickelodeon Quiet on Setis working on a series that will thoroughly investigate the accusations and their impact on the downfall of the producer and businessman. The latter will be broadcast on the Max platform.
Meanwhile, Sean Diddy Combs remains in prison after being arrested in September 2024. The man, formerly known as Puff Diddy, faces federal charges of sex trafficking and organized crime, after a grand jury indicted him.
Authorities have also documented allegations of sexual abuse against minors, including incidents that allegedly occurred at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards and at his Hamptons residence in 2005.
In December 2024, a federal judge denied Combs’ bail request, arguing that “no condition or combination of conditions would reasonably ensure the safety of the community.”
For his part, the artist has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 17.
Meanwhile, new testimonies and civil lawsuits continue to appear. In December 2024, three men formally accused Combs of drugging and raping them while they were unconscious. The rapper’s lawyers have strongly denied these accusations, calling them “false and full of lies,” and have announced that they will seek sanctions against the lawyers who brought them forward.
