Nigeria has seen a decrease in the number of people killed, kidnapped, and insecurity in June, compared to May of the current year 2024.
This is contained in the monthly report of security issues released by Beacon Consulting, a security analysis company, on Monday.
The report said: “In June 2024 there was a decrease in attacks, where there were 618 attacks. This shows that there has been a decrease in attacks by 19.32 percent when combined with 766 attacks you in May”.
The report also shows that there was a reduction in the kidnapping problem in Nigeria in the month of June by about 58.59 percent.
“1,128 people were kidnapped in May 2024, while in June 467 were kidnapped.”
In terms of killings, the report also mentions that there has been a decrease of 5.96 percent.
“1,090 people were killed in May 2024, while in June it decreased to 1,025 in June.”
The arson attack by Boko Haram in Gwoza town of Borno state, which killed at least 30 people at the end of June, has further highlighted the security problems faced in different parts of the country.
However, the Nigerian government has repeatedly claimed to disband the group.
Also, the bandits continue to raid and kill people and kidnap them in states like Zamfara, Katsina, and Kaduna, in the northwest of the country.
