Many Hausa singers have started counting the profits they get from uploading their songs on YouTube, a platform that allows young and old singers to showcase their skills easily.
Most of the Hausa singers of Dauri, have gained fame as a result of having their songs on radio stations, and the festivals they attend, or the gatherings organized by the singers.
But most of the modern Hausa singers have gained fame because of the movie songs they sing, where in the past even the actors who sang the songs were more famous than the singers.
Later, Kannywood singers began to produce music albums on CDs and sell them like movies, which brought about a change in Hausa music.
Musicians such as Abubakar Sani, Adam A. Zango, Sadi Sidi Sharifai and Nazifi Asnanics came to the fore in this era, where their music albums were very successful in the market, and they gained more fame after their voices were heard in movies for a long time.
But now the times have changed, where many Hausa singers are renewing the style of releasing their songs, where they have gone back to uploading on YouTube and getting the money, which has brought out new singers whose voices are now being heard.
