He French Court of Appeal confirmed this Wednesday the sentence against former president Nicolas Sarkozy for corruption and influence peddlingand ordered him to carry for a year an electronic braceletthe first time that a former head of state has done so.
Sarkozy, who had already been found guilty of illegal attempts to obtain favors from a judge, “evidently“will respect the terms of the sentence after the verdict of the Court of Cassationbut now will appeal the case to the European Court of Human Rightshis lawyer told the news agency AFP.
