The same is the case in Nigeria, where the government of the country has come up with some plans that can have an impact on the lives of the citizens in the new year.
However, the removal of fuel subsidies by the president on his first day after being sworn in, and allowing the naira to seek its own value in the market, have had a major impact on the pressure of life and rising prices in the country.
The fact that some experts believe that it is unlikely that any measures taken by the country’s government will be effective in reducing the pressure of the current life.

Dr. Murtala Adogi Muhammad, the head of System Strategy and Policy, a non-profit organization that assists major government agencies and non-governmental organizations that support Nigeria, said there are plans that will change people’s lives. Nigerians in 2025.
“There are plans that the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, is trying to develop and if they are implemented, there is no doubt that they will change the lives of Nigerians in the coming year,” he said.
‘Reduce inflation to 15 percent’

Dr. Adogi said that in the speech delivered by the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu before the National Assembly, when he was presenting the 2025 budget, he promised to reduce the inflation in the country to 15 percent.
The price increase in Nigeria reached 34.60 percent in November, according to the statistics of the country’s statistics agency.
“But the president promised to reduce the population to 15 percent, but he did not reveal any steps he would take to achieve that,” said Dr. Adogi.
The expert also said that if the President of the country achieves this resolution, it will indeed have a great impact on changing the lives of Nigerians.
‘Prioritize the security sector’

On the 18th of December, the President of Nigeria presented the 2025 budget, in which the security sector has the highest share.
Dr. Adogi said, “if this allocation is implemented properly, there is no doubt that the security problem facing Nigeria will be eased”.
“Right now in Nigeria there is nothing that is bothering Nigerians except the security problem, if this is solved then the life of Nigerians will definitely improve”, said Dr. Adogi.
‘Agriculture Improvement Plans’

Dr. Adogi said the government of Bola Tinubu is determined to improve agriculture in order to supply the country with food.
“The government has developed plans to improve agriculture, by coming up with programs to support agriculture, such as distributing fertilizers and providing loans and tools to farmers.”

The resolution includes how to collect taxes and how to distribute them among the states of the country and different levels of government.
According to experts, the new tax resolution provides that VAT will be collected where the headquarters of companies or banks are located, not where they are used the most.
“Well, see if the states of Lagos and Rivers and other states with big companies will benefit, they will get a lot of money, and the lives of the people will change a lot”, said Dr. Adogi.
“But on the contrary, some states in the north will have less income and this will affect their communities, they will not be able to hire workers and they will not be able to carry out infrastructure projects”, he said.
Stop supporting Hajj

At the beginning of October 2024, the Nigerian government announced that it would withdraw from the 2025 Hajj.
The Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has said that the federal government will not be able to continue subsidizing the 2025 Hajj.
Alhaji Nasidi Yahaya Sulaiman, an expert on Hajj and Umrah, said that what this means is that the cost of Hajj in 2025 will be higher than any other year.
“It depends on the price of the dollar since its price is not fixed. Kenan, if it goes at the current price, the cost of the chair can reach 10 million naira. It can even exceed that if the dollar rises. For example, if the price of the dollar is 2000 naira, as we have seen before, the price of a seat for Hajj can exceed 10 million naira.”
Even in the 2024 Hajj, the federal government had to provide financial support of up to 90 billion naira to carry out the pilgrimage without any delay.
If only the government would provide the support by breaking the value of the dollar at the central bank of Nigeria.
This is why experts believe that the cost of this year’s Hajj could reach 10 million naira.
