Sherry Pauley, James Pauley died in Litchfield Breezes, SC house fire


71-year-old Sherry Pauley and 72-year-old James Pauley, both of Windy Lane in Pawleys Island, South Carolina have been identified by the  Georgetown County Coroner Chase Ridgeway as the couple that lost their lives in a house fire incident. The accident happened on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at approximately 5:43 a.m in Litchfield Breezes, Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

According to reports, the deadly fire incident that happened at 157 Windy Lane involved many homes. However, a woman was able to come out of the home while her parents were not able to escape. When  firefighters arrived on the scene the home was engulfed in flames. The three-story raised beach house was destroyed and the one next to it was also on fire.

Accoridn to the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office, the couple died of smoke inhalation. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.

Georgetown County Fire-EMS, Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Department and Horry County Fire Rescue and City of Georgetown Fire Department helped in extinguishing the fire.

Sherry Pauley’s obituary and James Pauley’s obituary will be released by their family.
