The president of Paraguay, Santiago Penawas discharged this Tuesday Samaritan Hospital of Rio de Janeirowhere he was transferred on Monday night after a “indisposition”, y will resume his agenda on this day in the G20 leaders summitannounced the Paraguayan Presidency.

The Presidency confirmed that the head of state is preparing to “resume their official activities” at the G20.

The first medical report released by the Samaritano Hospital indicated that Peña was “GOOD” and in a situation “stable”, after the president was admitted to this medical center in Rio de Janeiro.

Peña, who turned 46 on Saturday, was sworn into office in August 2023, becoming the youngest president of the democratic era that the South American country inaugurated after the fall of the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner (1954-1989).

The official networks of the Presidency of Paraguay published a video in which Peña thanked the messages of support y tokens of affection received. “Good morning, here from Rio de Janeiro, already recovered. I did some checks yesterday“, the president began.

And he completed: “The truth is that the last few days have been full of emotions. On Saturday, my birthday, of course. How can we forget Thursday, that great victory for our beloved team. And well, all these emotions and obviously the heartbeat of the team that is going to play this afternoon in Bolivia for the qualifiers on a new date… I really think all these emotions altered my very positive mood in some way.but already today recovered and with great strength to continue fighting on behalf of Paraguay, in this great opportunity that we have to participate for the first time in the G20 meeting here in Rio de Janeiro. Before discharge, the vice president of Paraguay, Pedro Allianahad confirmed that the head of state was in good condition after being hospitalized. According to him, Peña suffered a “slight indisposition”, but his health is not a cause for concern.

“I spoke with President Santiago Peña, who is in the Samaritan Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after a slight illness. He is fine and waiting for the results of his medical examinations,” he had noted on Monday.

As revealed to Infobae sources close to the Paraguayan president, Peña suffered an episode of “very high blood pressure”: “It was a scare“, they maintained.
