Princess Charlene aka Charlene Lynette Wittstock is a former Olympic swimmer and a royal family member. She earned herself the title of a princess by marrying Monaco’s prince, Albert II.

Lynette attended Tom Newby Primary School. Her mother initially taught her swimming and made her participate in competitive swimming events.

Charlene rose to fame after receiving 3 golds and a silver medal in the 1999 All-Africa Games. She also took part in the Commonwealth Games of 1998 and 2002.

Amid the illness, Princess Charlene has fled away to a secret place outside Monaco.

She previously spent around 6 months in South Africa. She underwent a sinus operation and then suffered from an ENT(ear, nose, and throat) infection.

Charlene’s air pressure did not equalize and thus, she could not fly over 20,000 feet. As a result, she spent her time recovering in SA and returned to Monaco two weeks ago.

Initially, Prince Albert II had announced that Charlene will attend a public ceremony on 19 November (Monaco’s National Day). As per Hello Magazine, he later confirmed that she has moved to a secret location.

As per the sources, Charlene has fled to rest properly and overcome her fatigue. However, fans are speculating that it might be a case of drug addiction or abuse.

As of November 2021, Princess Charlene is aged 43 years old as she was born on 25 January 1978.

Her birthplace is Bulawayo, Rhodesia. However, her family moved to Africa and she was brought up in Johannesburg.

Michael Wittstock and Lynette Humberstone are Charlene’s parents. Her father is an ex-sales manager and her mother is a former competitive driver and swimming coach.

Charlene hails from German origin and she has certified Irish ancestry. Moreover, she has two siblings: Gareth and Sean.

Princess Charlene’s lavish wedding took place in the Throne Room of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco.

She exchanged vows with her husband, Prince Albert II on 1 July 2011. During the magical moment of her life, she was literally in tears.

After the initial public ceremony, they were religiously named a man and wife the next day. The second ceremony took place in the courtyard of the palace.

Charlene and Prince Albert II met in 2000 at Mare Nostrum. However, they came out as a couple in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Prior to their wedding, the pair attended the nuptials of Crown Princess of Sweden and  Duke of Cambridge.
