Amid a new wave of rocket attacks hitting the northern region of Israel, a displaced resident of the Shomra community, now sheltered in the city of Nahariya, described the climate of constant tension: “The missiles are chasing us all the time”.
During Monday’s attack, the situation became even more critical when a nearby building was hit, sparking a fire and leaving a car completely ablaze.
The balance of the attack included two injured by shrapnelincluding an elderly woman in serious condition, according to the Israeli ambulance service.
The Israeli army said that partially intercepted ten projectiles from Lebanon.

More than 40 Lebanese soldiers have been killed in Israeli attacks since the war between Israel and Hezbollah began, although the Lebanese Army has largely remained on the sidelines.
Lebanon’s interim prime minister, Najib Mikati, condemned the latest attack, calling it a assault to efforts to reach a ceasefire led by the United States. He said it had been a “direct and bloody message that rejects all ongoing efforts and contacts” to end the war.
Israel says its military offensive aims to allow tens of thousands of Israelis to return to their homes they evacuated when Hezbollah began firing across the Lebanese border into Israel more than a year ago. Hezbollah’s campaign followed the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023 against Israel that precipitated the Gaza war.
