Messi reacts when Rodri wins the 2024 award ahead of Vinicius

Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has reacted after Rodri won the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

He congratulated the player.

Messi was absent from Monday’s ceremony as he was not excluded from this year’s 30-player list.

However, some of his Argentine teammates made the cut, and Emiliano Martínez won the Yachine Award for the second year in a row.

For the grand prize, Rodri, from Manchester City, was named the best player on the planet, ahead of Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Júnior.

Messi wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations to all the winners and nominees of the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

“Especially to Dibu, how great, another award for the best goalkeeper in the world. And to Lautaro, to Scaloni and Garnacho.”

Messi continues to be the player with the most Ballon d’Ors (8).
