Venezuela’s opposition leader Maria Corina Machado This Saturday he asked Venezuelans to accompany the candidate of the largest anti-Chavista coalition, Edmundo González Urrutiaduring his visit to Argentina, as part of an international tour in search of support to achieve his goal of assuming the Presidency of the Caribbean country on January 10. And he thanked the Argentine president, Javier Mileyfor receiving it. “Long live freedom and the brave people”, he wrote on his X account.
Before, he had stated: “Dear Venezuelans in Argentina, today it’s your turn! Our elected president Edmundo González Urrutia will be received by President Javier Milei in (the) Casa Rosada!”
Machado and the opposition coalition Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) insist that González Urrutia was the winner of the presidential elections on July 28while the Caracas dictatorship affirms without evidence that the result gave re-election to Nicolas Madurowhich is considered by democratic countries as a “fraudulent” result.
The former deputy reiterated that the PUD candidate is the “elected president” based on more than 85% of the electoral records which they say they have collected through witnesses and board members, documents that the Government calls false.
“Maduro will never be able to show a single report because we devastated the entire country and they know it. With this immense pride of being Venezuelan we are going to meet very soon on the streets of Venezuela and the world.”expressed Machado.
As part of his tour, González Urrutia will meet this Saturday with the president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou; next January 8 with that of Panama, José Raúl Mulinoand the next day he will leave for the Dominican Republic, to meet with Luis Abinader.
González Urrutia, exiled in Spain since September, assures that he will return to Venezuela for the inauguration, which is why he has asked citizens to assume “the commitment together” to enforce the electoral “mandate.”
On Thursday, the Venezuelan Police offered a reward of $100,000 for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the opponent, according to a publication shared by several institutions through Instagram.
Javier Milei received, from 11 a.m. at Casa Rosada, Edmundo González Urrutiaelected president of Venezuela not recognized by the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro, who proclaimed himself president of that country in the last fraudulent elections.
Previously, called for 10 o’clock, the rally was held in Plaza de Mayo to receive the Venezuelan opposition leader. They got there Elisa Trottaformer ambassador and general secretary of the Argentine Forum for the Defense of Democracy, Charbel Hirecoordinator of the Primero Justicia party in South America, and Liset Luque, secretary of the NGO Alliance for Venezuela, in addition to hundreds of Venezuelans exiled in Argentina.
