Commenting on the post Momoathe filmmaker expressed his interest in working with him on a possible solo film of the bounty hunter: “Let’s make a Wolf movie”. This statement excited fans who see in Leitch an ideal candidate to bring the character to the big screen thanks to his ability to combine explosive action with irreverent humor.
Over the years, multiple directors have attempted to adapt Lobo to the cinema. Guy Ritchie (Snatch: Pigs and Diamonds), Brad Peyton (Rampage) and included Michael Bay (Transformers) were linked to the project at different times, but none of them managed to make it happen. Now, with the charisma of Momoa and the interest of a director with the track record of Leitchthe antihero could finally receive the adaptation he deserves.
Jason Momoa has an extensive history within DC. The Hawaiian actor participated in Batman v Superman (2016) before joining the team Justice League (2017) and starring in his two solo films as the king of Atlantis. Although the solo project of Lobo has not received the green light, fans will be able to enjoy a first look at the character when Supergirl: The Woman of Tomorrow of Craig Gillespie hits theaters on June 2, 2026.
