JAMB Warns Candidates: Illegal Admission – All Candidates Take Note

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB warns candidates against illegal admission not processed through its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS. According to JAMB, any admission given outside the CAPS is illegal, and this may affect a candidate’s academic future.

It, therefore, ordered that the admissions made outside CAPS to all tertiary institutions from 2017 to 2023 should be reported. The deadline for all institutions in declaring such admission to JAMB has been extended up until August 31, 2024. Such failure to declare may attract heavy penalties as JAMB continues in its moves to regularize the admission method and save the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.

It is on this move that JAMB reinstated its commitment to transparency, adding it would make sure that the admission was in strict adherence to officially approved guidelines. “The candidates are hereby advised to confirm their admission through CAPS to avoid issues in their academic pursuits.
