A tragic incident occurred in Cincinnati, Ohio, where a 3-year-old girl was fatally attacked by her family’s dogs on December 27, just two days after Christmas.
According to the authorities of the Hamilton Countythe victim was identified as Kingsley Renee Wrightwho was visiting his relatives during the festivities. The case remains under investigation.
In a statement collected by Peoplethe minor’s father reported the event during a call to the emergency service.
“I just woke up and my daughter is dead. There is blood everywhere, I don’t understand what happened,” he declared with obvious dismay.
According to the conversation obtained by WXIXthe man also mentioned that the dogs were locked in cages at the time of the attack. “That’s why I don’t understand if it was my pets who attacked her. I would have heard it,” he said when answering the 911 operator’s questions.
Kingsley Wrightwho according to her obituary was “a happy girl, always smiling and with a positive spirit,” died due to serious injuries sustained during the attack. His mother, Gina Smithexpressed his pain and confusion in a testimony given to WLWT5.
“I had no idea my daughter would be around dangerous dogs. “I would never have allowed something like this to happen,” he told the local media. Additionally, she asked for answers that would help her understand how the tragedy occurred. “I just want to know why and how,” she added through tears.
Agents of the Cincinnati Police Responders to the scene were instructed to turn off their body cameras due to the graphic nature of the girl’s injuries, according to reports. WLWT5.
One of the officers was recorded saying, “I think we’re going to need animal control to come secure two dogs.” According to this same source, three animals were removed from the home and transferred to the shelter. Cincinnati Animal CAREwhere they currently complete a mandatory ten-day quarantine period for bites, as established by regulations.
Kingsley’s mother said that during the holidays her daughter was visiting relatives in Roselawna neighborhood north of Cincinnati. However, he mentioned that he did not know the seriousness of the danger to which his daughter was exposed.
Her partner, Josh Justice, also shared with WLWT5 their concerns about the details of the attack. “Those dogs weigh more than 45 kilos (100 pounds). Did they accidentally sit on her and then start attacking her? Did they crush her first? Why did they do that? “It was a baby sleeping on the couch,” he questioned, reflecting the questions that persist around the case.
The 911 reports also provided more details about the animals involved in the incident. As compiled by WXIXKingsley’s father claimed that the dogs in question were Bull Terriers. The relationship between the dogs and the minor, as well as the exact circumstances that led to the attack, continue to be the subject of the investigation led by the Cincinnati Police Department.
