One of President Dina Boluarte’s sons was appointed to an important position in New York. It is about David Eduardo Gómez Boluarte, who will serve as third secretary of the diplomatic service of the Permanent Representation of Peru to the United Nations Organization (UN).
The measure was announced on November 27, through a ministerial resolution signed by the canciller Elmer Schialer. Once the dates are defined, the conceited head of state will assume her duties. The expenses will be covered by the budget statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
David Eduardo Gómez Boluarte is the eldest son of the president of Peru. The young economist studied at the Diplomatic Academy of Peru Pérez de Cuellar. Through a ministerial resolution dated March 29, 2021, prior to the assumption of power by Pedro Castillo and Dina Boluarte, their entry was approved by obtaining one of the 25 places.
Subsequently, after successfully completing his studies, his registration in the Diplomatic Service in the category of third secretary was made official, through supreme resolution No. 168-2022-RE. This occurred in accordance with the fourth article of the regulations, to begin working in the Chancellery.
“In accordance with the Single Ordered Text of Law No. 28091, Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic, approved by Supreme Decree No. 047-2021-RE; Law No. 28598, Law that specifies the scope of article 64 of Law No. 28091, Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic regarding the titles and academic degree granted by the Diplomatic Academy of Peru; the Regulations of the Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic, approved by Supreme Decree No. 130-2003-RE and its amendments; and Law No. 29357, Law of Organization and Functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; It is resolved to incorporate the Diplomatic Service of the Republic and enroll in the Ranking of the Diplomatic Service with the category of Third Secretary, as of January 1, 2023, the following twenty-five (25) students of the Diplomatic Academy of Peru Javier Pérez from Cuéllar,” the document states.
Accompanied by Ana Gervasi, then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dina Boluarte participated, in her capacity as president, in the graduation of class No. 60, called Ambassador José Manuel Domingo Boza Orozco, to which her eldest son belongs.
As seen in the images, the president arrived only to deliver the diplomas, since she did not participate in the speeches given by the then chancellor, vice minister and president of the academy. While he shook everyone’s hand and congratulated them on the end of their academic career, he took a little more time with his son to dedicate a few words to him, caressed his face and followed him smiling with his eyes.
Despite the suspicions that may be generated, there is no nepotism in this situation, given that the civil service law does not have scope over the diplomatic service law, which is within special laws such as the Peruvian Army, the National Police of the Peru and other branches that operate with their own structures and powers.
