John Dempsey, former Chelsea player, has died.
The Blues revealed it in a post through their official X account on Wednesday.
“It is with tremendous sadness that Chelsea Football Club announces the passing of our former FA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup winner, John Dempsey,” Chelsea said.
“We send our deepest condolences to all of John’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Dempsey, who was born on March 15, 1946, played as a defender during his professional football career.
The Englishman also played for teams such as Fulham, Phihladelphia Fury and Dundalk.
