Boko Haram attack on Juma mosque in Kano: ‘I thought it was an act of hatred’
One of the violent attacks that Kano State has ever seen in history, was when Boko Haram members detonated bombs and shot dead people at the Grand Juma Mosque in the city.
The attack on the 28th of November 2014 is one of the worst terrorist attacks seen in the years that Boko Haram has done its business in the commercial capital of northern Nigeria.
Authorities at the time said that more than 100 people were killed in a planned infidel attack that took place in the middle of the Friday prayer meeting.
Although there is a possibility that the number of people killed in the attack is more than that.
Many people’s lives have changed because of the attacks by Boko Haram on security forces and civilians, poor people and kings, Muslims and Christians across Kano.
Authorities at that time developed various measures to stop the speed of the attackers such as restricting traffic and prohibiting going out at night in some cases, blocking roads, setting up checkpoints and charging those who enter places of worship and so on.
However, after those bad events that Kano has seen in the past, people are now facing the future, where things are slowly recovering.
