The Post-Graduation Work Program (PGWP)
The post-graduate Work Program is created to help you live temporarily and work in Canada after you have finished your studies in Canada. For you to be eligible, you will have to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) or an institution that is well recognized by the government to host international students.
In order to be eligible to apply through the PGWP, the following will be required;
- Must have finished your studies, either diploma or certificate at a DLI in Canada
- Your course of study must be longer than 8 months
- Your course of study must be full-time
- Your study permit must be valid when you apply
You will have a minimum of 180 days from when you graduate to apply through the PGWP. The visa processing time is about 90 days after you have submitted your application. Once you are successful, the PGWP will be valid for the same period of your studies.
