This event marks the second time in less than a week that SEBIN agents have besieged the home of Machado’s mother, increasing tensions amid the adverse political context facing the country.
Machado has repeatedly accused the regime of Maduro to employ harassment tactics against opponents and their families, denouncing these actions as attempts to intimidate the rise of their political leadership.

The situation has generated widespread rejection by the Venezuelan opposition and international leaders. The Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) requested that the international community increase pressure on the regime to end the blockade of the embassy and allow the issuance of safe conduct for asylum seekers.
“The international community must press for an end to the criminal siege and the issuance of safe passage for the six companions sheltered there as soon as possible,” the PUD said in a statement released by X.
For its part, the party Vente Venezuela (VV)led by Machado, warned about the risks of accepting these actions of the Maduro regime. “Accepting these violations of international law creates a very dangerous precedent for the rest of the diplomatic headquarters in Caracas”they pointed out in X.
